In late January, Luke Wenke named me as a defendant in a bogus lawsuit filled with blatant lies and false allegations. In his complaint, he falsely accused myself and one of the FBI agents who investigated him of conspiring against him with one another, claiming that I work for “federal probation” and that the federal government pays me to run this website.
I don’t see how a lawsuit filled with such obvious fallacies can go very far, and I haven’t been served with any papers in the nearly two months since Wenke filed his complaint against me. Wenke’s claim that I work for the government is easily disprovable, and I have not had any contact with the FBI agents who investigated him in several years now.
The document at the bottom of this page appears to be an application for a fee waiver which, if approved, would enable Luke Wenke’s civil case against me to get underway even if he hasn’t satisfied the $405 filing fee. In the paperwork, Wenke specifies that his mother pays his bills and living expenses and that he doesn’t have an income because the authorities detain him for “prolonged periods.”
After insisting he’s destitute, Wenke goes on to include a handwritten note explaining that his mommy deposited enough money for the $405 filing fee into his jail commissary. He strongly urges the courthouse to take the fee as soon as possible (and would later write a letter complaining because they hadn’t debited the fee from his commissary) so he could get the ball rolling with the apparent court victory he plans to secure against me.
As a person from a background of limited means, I can attest that poor people generally don’t have money laying around for bullshit litigation (especially if they’re in jail).
In fact, a lawsuit is more-or-less a struggling person’s worst nightmare, because they cost money, time, and resources that are more imminently needed in other areas of life. In my experience, if a poor person runs into $400, they might use it for car repairs, catching up on bills, or even just keeping food on the table.
Or maybe they’ll spend the money on a rare indulgence, like some brand-name clothing or a staycation. But I can’t think of one instance where it would be even remotely normal for an impoverished individual to receive that kind of money and think, “oh, goody! I can harass my stalking victim through the court system now by filing a baseless lawsuit!”
Luke Wenke claims he can’t afford a private attorney in his ongoing criminal case, but his mommy has done a spectacular job at paying all his bills and expenses for four years and counting. Many parents cannot afford to foot those kinds of costs for an adult child who’s proving to be a perpetual fuck-up (or won’t spend the money, because they realize their child is being an ungrateful shithead).
In addition to the fact that Wenke’s subsidized representation seems to be paving the way for him and his mother to spend wantonly on non-necessities (like suing me based on lies), I find it extremely hypocritical that Luke Wenke is crying poor and expect anyone to have sympathy. He poverty-shames people constantly, chalking people’s financial struggles up to personal failures and character flaws while overlooking his own shortcomings as the product of circumstance. As if going broke was completely beyond his control when all he had to fucking do was quit fucking bothering people and he’d be free as a bird.
The lawsuit reflects just one of Luke Wenke’s many attempts to force his presence into my life.
It’s likely no coincidence that Wenke filed the lawsuit after failing to force his presence into my life in various other ways. Just weeks before his arrest in December, he posted numerous Tweets threatening to show up at a family-owned property that he believes I live at. He threw a colossal, days-long tantrum when the State Troopers called him at my request and told him he’s not welcome on my family’s land.
On December 17th, Luke Wenke was arrested by the FBI on a federal cyberstalking charge involving a court official who oversaw his previous criminal case. In the week that followed, he tried calling me over a dozen times from jail. I refused to engage in any form of dialogue with him and eventually figured out how to block the jail’s calls entirely.
Less than two weeks after I blocked Luke Wenke’s jail calls, I received a notice about a piece of certified mail waiting for me at the post office. The slip contained a return address, which I recognized as Luke Wenke’s mother’s address. Because I want zero contact with Luke Wenke and his mother, I called the post office and said I did not want the mail, and it was returned to the sender.
I never acquired or opened the letter, because all I want is for Luke Wenke and his mother to leave me the fuck alone. I waited for three years in near-complete silence and while living in fear, shame, and isolation like a complete recluse. Their behavior only escalated during this time. They made it clear that they were not going to leave me alone, but I refuse to interact with them regardless of how hard they push.
I think Luke Wenke knowingly lies in his lawsuit and is vastly more coherent than the court realizes.
The mental health card has proven instrumental in enabling Luke Wenke to weasel out from under full accountability for his crimes thus far. Shit, the court has even used it against his wishes, because they seemed intent on sticking with a narrative that had fallen apart in front of everyone’s eyes except theirs, apparently.
It’s easy, and perhaps even standard practice at this point, to blame Wenke’s behavior on his “mental issues.” That’s a cop-out, plaina and simple. Luke Wenke knows right from wrong, and he knowingly chooses to commit wrong. He understands rules and the requirement to follow them, but simply has no respect for such protocols. And I am dam sure that Wenke is fully aware that his lawsuit against me is predicated on complete and utter bullshit. And he should get in trouble for this, but he wont. He won’t. Because the people overseeing these matters like to pretend he doesn’t know any better when it couldn’t be further from the truth.
